= About MOLGENIS = MOLGENIS was conceived in a project called 'Invengine' by a small Dutch company called Inventory.nl . Early 2002 this company took on a project to develop a microarray database for the Groningen University . The big challenge was that the research was still developing and hence the software needed to be flexible. Invegine did the job perfectly. Since then there has been many years of development (amongst it a complete redesign from PHP to Java to accomodate large scale genetics data). Early 2008, Inventory.nl kindly open-sourced the software as 'MOLGENIS' which is since 2009 a dual-license (LGPLv3  or if desired a commercial, serviced, license) in collaboration with The Groningen Bioinformatics Center . == MOLGENIS Contributors == This project was possible thanks to: ||Image(morris.jpg)||Morris SwertzBR MOLGENIS project coordinatorBRExtensible Genotype And Phenotype database sub-project || ||Image(rudi.jpg)||Rudi AlbertsBROur HZI liaison||||Joris Lops|| ||||Ate BoeremaBRAnimal observatory sub-project||Image(richard.jpg)||Richard ScheltemaBR Also known from pop-music || ||Image(bert.jpg)||Bert de Brock||Image(joeri.jpg)||Joeri van der Velde|| ||Image(martijn.jpg)||Martijn DijkstraBRProteomics sub-project||Image(bruno.jpg)||Bruno Tesson|| ||Image(ritsert.jpg)||Ritsert JansenBRMr. Genetical Genomics||Image(gonzalo.jpg)||Gonzalo Vera BRSee also R/Parallel || ||Image(alrik.jpg)||Alrik Lubbers||BR|| = MOLGENIS partners = == MOLGENIS Partners == ||Image(casimir.gif)||CASIMIR consortium:BR CASIMIR, is a coordination action of the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission, and focusses on co-ordination and integration of databases containing experimental data.BRBR|| ||Image(gen2phen.gif)||GEN2PHEN consortiumBR The GEN2PHEN project aims to unify human and model organism genetic variation databases towards increasingly holistic views into Genotype-To-Phenotype (G2P) data.BRBR|| ||Image(ebi.gif)||European Molecular Biology LaboratoryBR The EBI is a centre for research and services in bioinformatics.
