GWAS Portal
Summary
description: | Research portal for LifeLines, focussed on analyzing whole genome data |
developers: | AndreDeVries, JorisLops?, MorrisSwertz? |
state: | design |
As part of the LifeLines study, molecular data is being collected from participant samples, in addition to large amounts of phenotype data. Researchers interested in performing studies on these data need to write a proposal (publication plan) in which they request specific phenotypes and whether or not they need the genotype data (or what part of them). After approval by the scientific committee, only requested data will be available to the researcher. In any situation, researchers can never download any of the data to their computer, all resided on the lifelines server. Researchers can perform research in two ways:
- Using a controlled webportal, by which analyses are instructed. These analyses are run under the hood and cannot be editted manually. Result pop up on screen when ready and can be downloaded.
- Either remote desktop or a physically isolated desktop (without network connection) at which resarchers can log in and use their favorite analysis software.
More information can be found in the requirements document that is currently (mid feb 2010) written en will later be attached to this wiki page. More information: AndreDeVries.
Also currently running: investigation looking into alternative genetic analysis platforms (see attachment).
